What drives Bollywood flicks and aam janta

An average Indian has always lived in a world of fantasies, few by their choices and most of their deprivation. No doubt when they see such fantasies being fulfilled on big screen their heart fills with joy and start enjoying the craziness far away from reality. When a hero beats a dozen people bare handed and romances the prettiest girl in most exquisite locations and craziest situations audience get all worth of the money they spent on this little dreamland journey. Till the time people will not stop craving about such fantasies or do not experience and live such moments to know how it is actually in reality, this big industry will exploit this thought process to make more such movies.

One should not wonder how such story less or fantasy movies are the biggest success which repetitively enter the exclusive 100 crore club as it is simply because maximum Indians still have greed in their heart for desires, experiences not enough to develop a conscience and deprivation of their basic and fundamental needs which results in a perfect rebellion or messiah character on screen. Travel to west and it is a completely different scenario where movies are either based on real characters you can find in everyday life or even if such fantasy movies are made, they first have to convince the audience about how a hero has turned into a superhero either via technology or by some silly science logic. This is only because majority people in west are more content by their life as they get the necessary freedom and faces no discrimination or partiality to live life on their own terms and even if they fail, there is no one else to blame for.

Someone very rightly said that cinema is nothing but reflection of our society. So whenever any character based movie whose protagonist is not far away from what we see in everyday’s life rakes a good amount, it feels good that society is now collectively becoming better and moving in a right direction. These movies thus turn out to be a perfect tool to measure and check where our society is heading.
